Passionate about martial arts, Bao decided to become a fitness coach after obtaining his Master's degree in psychology. COVID forced him to start an online career as PT and he developed a 7AM outdoor bootcamp community which has now migrated to ANIMO.

Next to being a TRAIN instructor, Bao coaches Vovinam (A Vietnamese martial art). His workouts are functional, leg heavy, and with a focus on polyarticular exercises. To the sound of HipHop, of course.

His favourite shake? The Gainer: nothing better than peanut butter and some protein 😋

His workout routine. Bao is a morning guy. He likes a healthy mix between functional training, martial arts movements and burpees. He always starts his own sessions with a good warm-up run.

A typical Sunday? “I like to eat out with my girlfriend, we love to have diner at Tchin-Tchin (right next to ANIMO) | La Cang Tin and end the evening with a good movie”

What is your most memorable moment during a class? Seeing happy clients and get a smile on their faces even though they suffered during the class.

What do you tell yourself when it’s get tough during a RIDE/TRAIN/MOVE class?Let’s do better than yesterday. Everyday has to be a challenge and I will do it!

How did you get into (train, move, ride) and what made you want to become an instructor? My goal is to be able to help and motivate people through sport. This is why I became a fitness and martial arts instructor. And what better way to do it in a nice atmosphere like ANIMO.

How does that translate into your classes? What’s your style and philosophy? Each class must be a challenge for the client (while respecting his level of course). I like to start classes slow and end with a big challenge. This way the client feels that he has accomplished something during the day. During the class I want the client to have a great experience: from music to the vibes that I transmit. What I love to see at the of the class is their smile.

What can clients expect from you? How do you hope to make them feel after class? Practicing sport in good vibes with a variety of music: going from old school music to house music and also to Korean songs.

Here’s the music that he loves.
